Dreams are an invitation into a deeper conversation with ourselves and the world. An opportunity for more wholeness, guidance, compassion, understanding. They allow us to make relationships to different parts of our being, and integrate outcast, exiled and unwanted aspects of ourselves. They connect us to the unconscious world, both personal and collective, and therefore are a gateway into working with shadow, disowned parts of ourselves, and thus moving toward healing and wholeness. Although there are some dreams that seem to be solely reflections of our psycho-spiritual-emotional world, in the gestalt sense of every dream figure being a part of our interior life. I also hold that dream figures and beings show up just as themselves, that as indigenous peoples know and live by, we inhabit an animate world that is dreaming with us, and that dreamtime is a mysterious state of being where we travel the beyond during sleep. Dreams are ultimately gifts from the mystery and support our belonging in the deepest sense.
Women’s Dream Group
A circle to explore dreams, symbols and archetypal images for personal and collective healing, vision and action. We invite and explore the dreams from various perspectives as well as ancient earth ways of honoring the dream, to see what is being called forth.
There are many types of dreams—personal healing, pre-cognitive, waking, transpersonal, healing on behalf of another, ancestral visitations, spirit allies, animal allies, community guidance, maps and mirrors and more.
Dreams open us to some of the most beautiful, mystical experiences of a lifetime. Some content may also be disturbing. Of course this is the nature of dreams; they often reveal places, aspects, feelings and situations that fill us with dread. Often called nightmares, I hold that these dreams come as an offering toward healing and wholeness. In this circle, we grow a commitment to being with what may be difficult. There is incredible vulnerability and humility in this process, as well as healing, magic and poetry.
Bring your dream journals, current dreams, dreams from the past. If you do not remember your dreams, bring your sincere intention to enter into dialogue with the dream world.
